Senior Parking Officer (Business Team)

About Us

Our Greenwich Plan sets out our vision for the next 4 years focusing on the changes we collectively want to see in our borough and Council. We want to become a more strategic, efficient and adaptive organisation, to deliver for our communities. Our workforce is key to making this happen.

Royal Greenwich is a borough synonymous with first class modern services. Our vibrant, diverse communities span Greenwich town centre in the west, to Thamesmead in the east, from the Greenwich Peninsula in the north to Eltham in the south. Royal Greenwich has a reputation for combining ambition with delivery. We are on a journey towards a low carbon future and the sustainability agenda will influence all areas of the Council's work.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the Council's ambitions for our future transport network, implement high-profile schemes and maintain a strong grip on the delivery of key projects.

To be successful in this post you will be as comfortable with strategy as you are with leading large operations. You will need to bring energy, tenacity and strong communication skills. You will thrive on data and evaluation to evidence and inform delivery and service improvements.

Above all, you'll be committed to delivering an efficient, well-connected network that our residents love - with a carbon footprint that we can be proud of, as well as delivering the councils Transport Strategy.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Parking Officer to join our Business Services Team within Parking Operations. This role is essential in supporting the Business Services Team Leader in delivering key administrative and operational functions across the department.

As a Senior Parking Officer, you will take a leading role in managing parking enforcement administration, ensuring compliance with policies, and delivering a high standard of service. You will oversee tasks such as income recovery, contract management, procurement support, and financial record-keeping. In addition, you will be responsible for handling Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, Subject Access Requests (SARs), and complaints, ensuring timely and accurate responses.

A key aspect of this role involves supporting the management of contracts related to parking services, ensuring suppliers meet performance standards, compliance requirements, and service level agreements. You will also assist in procurement functions, managing purchase orders, and ensuring value for money in service delivery.

This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills to support the efficient operation of the Business Services Team and its objectives.

We're looking for a strong and highly motivated officer, who is a team player with energy and a strong commitment to probity, honesty, and openness, treating people consistently, fairly and with respect.

Able to understand parking related issues, governance and processes, you'll be a strategic thinker with the ability to work methodically and help to and deliver innovative solutions.

Royal Borough of Greenwich reserves the right to close any vacancy earlier than the advertised closing date should there be a high volume of applications received.
