Are you passionate about driving sustainable growth and making a tangible impact on local communities? Join our team as an Economic Growth Delivery Manager (Regeneration Projects) and lead the delivery of transformative and sustainable regeneration projects across Essex.
About the Role: As the Economic Growth Delivery Manager (Regeneration Projects), you will oversee delivery of a portfolio of multi-million-pound regeneration projects in priority places across Essex. You will manage a high performing team, ensuring effective project development and delivery through client-side commissioning oversight and robust programme management. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering collaborative relationships with partners and internal teams to ensure successful outcomes. You will lead work to:
· Develop detailed regeneration project proposals, working with relevant teams across the council, as well as local partners
· Ensure the effective delivery of projects, through effective client-side commissioning, oversight and programme management.
Managing relationships and partnership working will be an important element of the role, working with teams across the Council, and with local partners, in order to support collaborative and successful delivery. The role demands good leadership skills, a focus on achieving results, and the ability to bring together and lead diverse teams to achieve common goals.
You will be responsible for…
· Leading and managing a high performing team to develop detailed regeneration project proposals and oversee their delivery
· Ensuring effective client-side commissioning, oversight, and programme management of capital projects
· Fostering strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to support collaborative delivery
· Overseeing the development of business cases and supporting internal governance processes
· Managing strategic risk and issues and ensuring projects meet desired regeneration outcomes, time, cost and quality standards
· Tracking progress, prioritising resources, and reporting regularly to the Regeneration Programme Board to ensure optimal delivery and strategic alignment
· Assessing scheme viability and seeking effective outcomes for projects
· Developing and maintaining tools with which to analyse the effectiveness of the interventions in places.
The experience and skills you will bring…
· Educated to degree level or equivalent by experience with evidence of continuing professional development and knowledge in place regeneration
· Proven ability in programme and capital project management
· Experience of capital project delivery, preferably in regeneration projects
· Proven ability to develop business cases, development viability, urban regeneration / development to achieve benefits
· Experience in place-based working and partnerships, building strong internal and external relationships, which are collaborative and influential in their nature to achieve joint objectives.
· Effective problem solving and negotiating, with an ability to work with others to develop effective solutions.
· Ability to interpret and analyse data, using evidence and insight to draw conclusions around how key challenges can be met.
· An effective team leader that supports a culture of continuous improvement and innovation - translating learning to develop new approaches to service delivery.
