We have an exciting opportunity to become a Passenger Services Driver for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. This role offers a chance to be part of a friendly team committed to providing exceptional service and making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs in the borough of Rotherham.

As a Passenger Services Driver, you will have the responsibility of transporting passengers with special needs to various locations, particularly from home to school in the morning and back in the afternoon. This role involves driving a range of modern designated vehicles and working closely with children, young people, their parents, and carers. It requires patience, understanding, and effective communication skills to ensure every journey is a positive and enjoyable experience.

We are looking for individuals who hold a D1 Category driving licence allowing them to drive vehicles carrying up to 16 passengers or possess a PSV Licence. We offer training in Minibus Awareness Standards to ensure you are well-equipped for the role.

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded three additional days leave (pro rata for part-time).
