We are currently seeking to recruit a Project Lead to join our Bridges and Structures team based in Kendal to assist with the management and maintenance of around 1800 highway structures.
As Project Lead you will ensure that our projects are delivered safely, to an exceptional standard, economically and within set deadlines. You will be responsible for the development, procurement and project management of projects from inception through to completion, including all aspects relating to the Construction Design and Management Regulations. You will review your projects with a desire to make improvements, as well as share your insight and ideas with the wider Bridges and Structures team.
You will enthusiastically manage, develop, and mentor our high performing team, and manage the activities of both internal colleagues and external suppliers as required to ensure project delivery.
A key part of this role will be to engage with internal and external stakeholders confidently and effectively across local communities, the council’s directorates, and other organisations and partners, to ensure that the infrastructure delivered meets their needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the delivery of large scale and complex projects. Experience of working in a local government environment would be an advantage, however we would welcome expertise from other fields.
