About the role
We are looking for an experienced professional to join North Northamptonshire Council as a Principal Transport Planner (Strategy). Sitting within the Highways service of our Place & Economy directorate, the role forms a key part of our Transport Strategy team. Working with our public transport and sustainable transport officers, you will be developing the policies, strategies and investment schemes to enable the Council to meet its aspirations for improving transport facilities while facing the challenge of a climate emergency.
What will you be doing?
You will play a leading role in developing North Northamptonshire’s first Local Transport Plan, along with other transport strategies. You will provide expert transport advice to assist in the preparation of Local Plans and develop the highway and transport improvement schemes that will shape North Northamptonshire’s future.
About you
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have significant transport planning or policy experience, particularly in strategy development and public consultation. Good project management skills and experience of partnership working are also required. Experience of Local Transport Plans, Local Plans or the management of transport projects will also be useful.
