Vision Zero is a road safety aim to eliminate all traffic deaths and serious injuries, while increasing safe, healthy and equitable mobility for all.
We believe that no death or serious injury is acceptable on our roads, and we are working in partnership to reduce them to zero by 2040 in West Yorkshire.
The West Yorkshire Vision Zero partnership consists of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, the five local authorities, West Yorkshire Police, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, National Highways, Brake, and road safety campaigners.
Some of the activities will include:
- Support the Senior Road Safety Officer in Service Delivery.
- Developing and monitoring Social Media links and create new websites providing innovative digitalised Road Safety education/information packages for schools/communities.
- Representing the Council at Vision Zero programme meetings and boards to facilitate the delivery of the Vision Zero ambitions.
- The post holder will observe best practices in service delivery and keep up to date with developments in policy and legislation.
- To work with other members of the Team with responsibility for the monitoring of the Road Safety Advisors and assisting with their supervision to maintain a high standard of service.
- Collate and evidence Road Safety statistics in relation to work undertaken.
