We have an exceptional opportunity for a Highway Permit Scheme Manager to join our Highway Works Permit Team and be a part of Solihull’s future success.

As Highway Permit Team Manager, you will be responsible for a dedicated team, providing leadership and proactive management to ensure that the Council delivers its Traffic Management statutory duties and that all road and street works are co-ordinated effectively to ensure minimum disruption to highway users.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Level 4 qualification (e.g. HNC) or above in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering or similar discipline; or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge through significant experience in highway or traffic management or similar.
- Extensive and detailed knowledge and experience of implementing the requirements of traffic and highway legislation and the associated codes of best practice.
- Effective performance management with experience of supervising or managing others.
- Relevant and proven experience of managing engineering or highway related projects, including financial/budget monitoring.
- Experience of policy development for a highway network.
- Highly developed skills to engage with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to deliver a customer focused service.
