Sheffield is a great city, one that never stands still, that faces forward and embraces change. A City that makes history and shapes the future with a bold vision to achieve its ambitions supporting a post-pandemic vibrant city for both its residents and visitors.

Sheffield Parking Services play a key role in supporting residents; businesses and visitors across the city through the provision of parking places and enforcement of parking and bus lane restrictions to keep the city moving and maintain the safety of pedestrians; drivers and their passengers.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a service into being one of the best performing parking operations in England.

Sheffield City Council's Parking Services is one of the largest local authority operators in England.  The service has a turnover of £8 million per year and manages over 11,000 bays across the city. 15,000 parking permits are processed each year.

Almost 100,000 Parking and Bus Lane Penalty Charge Notices were issued last year. The service is going through significant modernisation and change. Recent service improvements have included the introduction of paperless parking permits, introduction of a customer portal to support motorists appealing fines, and the introduction of a new pay by phone cashless parking payment provider.

We currently have an opportunity to join the large Parking Services team. This is an exciting time to secure a new role created in the structure to be responsible for the management of data i.e being thorough and maintaining accuracy, performance management systems, and supporting department plans on continuous improvements.

There is a huge scope for development of quality and performance reporting and the successful candidate will build relationships across a wide range of services.

The ideal candidate should be organised, have good attention to detail, excellent ICT skills, strong analytical skills whilst using generic and bespoke software systems and work within data protection guidelines.

We work in a fast-paced; high volume; team environment where team members get to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.

At Sheffield City Council we have a hybrid working approach, whereby you will have the opportunity to work flexibly across the working week between office and home to suit your work life balance and to meet the needs of the service.

To enable you to work from home, you would need access to the internet via wi-fi in your home. You would be provided with the IT equipment to enable you to work from home.

If you are a team player who is enthusiastic about performance, quality assurance and committed to support continuous improvement, please review the Job Description/Person Specification and submit your application showing us how your experience could fit this post and enhance our team.
