Do you have experience of working for a local authority delivering transport and traffic initiatives?
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with an eye for detail with transport and traffic engineering experience. You will be responsible for delivering the Borough’s sustainable transport initiatives such as E-Bike & E-Scooter hire schemes, cycle parking, EV infrastructure and car clubs. You would also be assisting with delivering the boroughs EV, Walking and cycling strategies. The role is for 18 months on a fixed term contract
Key Responsibilities:
You’ll have a pivotal role to play in enabling the borough’s various key sustainable transport initiatives to go ahead on schedule and to budget. Your core responsibility will be undertaking full site assessment across the borough, design, consultation, reporting, implementation and monitoring including some financial controls.
You will liaise with colleagues and stakeholders to discuss any requirements for successful delivery of the schemes and advise on associated matters.
Your role and required experience will include:
A good knowledge of Highway, Traffic and parking design criteria, process and requirements including the relevant legislations.
- Good organisational and methodical skills and ability to meet deadlines, and work well under pressure in a busy and demanding environment.
- The ability to manage workload including some budget management and financial monitoring.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills ensuring all associated enquiries are dealt with promptly and effectively.
- Provide advice and support to colleagues on the relevant service and operational matters.
- Ensure that the service is dealt with on an equitable basis to deliver a high standards.
- Assist as required with the management of budgets, including ensuring that all necessary processes and procedures are carried out in a timely and effective way.
- Contribute towards the development of good working relations and collaborative arrangements with relevant third-party organisations including private, voluntary and other public organisations.
- Good IT skills and the ability to use software packages and databases. Experience in the use of GIS-based computer software would be advantageous.
- Administrative experience with a customer-orientated attitude and the ability to communicate complex and technical information in an understandable way.
