Westmorland and Furness Council, Highways and Transport service, are looking for an experienced, motivated, and friendly individual to join us as Senior Highways Network Technician. This is an excellent career step for candidates with experience in highways, transportation and construction backgrounds, looking to join a large and thriving organisation.
In this role, you will work as part of the South Lakeland area highways team, preparing, designing and processing highway improvement and maintenance projects, as well as undertaking inventory collection. This includes carrying out activities relating to surveys, design, specification, and data collection and input.
We are looking for strong communicators, as you will provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues in respect of specifications and standards for highways design and maintenance. You will also provide advice on the application of legislation, regulation, policy and principles to both internal and external customers of the Council.
This role is a great opportunity for candidates who have significant experience (three years minimum, post qualification) of highway, transportation, or construction design, as well as a sound knowledge of Local Government and dealing with customers.
