An opportunity has arisen to work within RMBC Street Scene, employed as a Band C Grounds Maintenance /Street Cleansing Operative / Driver based at Bailey House Rotherham.  

Applicants must have a valid driver’s licence.  

Your main responsibilities will include working in areas of high footfall within the town centre realm, you will need to have relevant knowledge and experience of carrying out ground’s maintenance / environmental cleansing work, assisting with maintaining grassed areas and formal planting areas within the town centre as well as environmental cleansing work, emptying street litter and dog bins and removal of street litter.  

Additional responsibilities will include removal of hazardous waste and drug litter and weed grubbing.

The successful applicants will utilise worksheets for recording and dating completed work and carry out daily machinery checks, have a good understanding of Health and Safety and Environmental issues related to the position applied for as well as when required give general assistance to members of the public on relevant street cleansing issues.

You must be flexible, committed and have a willingness to undertake mandatory training specific to Rotherham Council Employees and the Job role.
