We are looking for a highly motivated Vehicle Bodyshop Technician to join our County Transport team who supports the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of motor vehicles including motor cars, minibuses, light goods vehicles, trailers, and engineering plant.

The successful candidate must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) vocational qualification in vehicle bodywork repair and refinishing operations, and have a valid full Driving Licence with a minimum of category B. You will need to be suitably experienced in vehicle accident damage repair work and have the ability to use the appropriate tools and equipment to achieve a high-quality finish. Previous experience in body panel straightening, filling and body alignment (gaps to doors and panels etc). priming, masking and cleaning the vehicle ready for paint, and applying various paint finishes is essential for this role. 

Bodyshop technicians with previous experience of vehicle conversion and commissioning with a MET bias would be highly desirable for this role.  Candidates who are not experienced and/or do not hold the minimum qualification Levels should not apply for this role.

We operate a modern fleet of vehicles, that we preventively maintain to a very high standard with an emphasis on ‘Quality’ over ‘Quantity’.  The suitable applicant will be Workshop based but may on occasion be required to attend vehicles at the roadside or at our customers depots.

The successful candidate will be issued with a personal tool kit along with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and branded workwear.  The Workshop also has its own specialist tools and up to date vehicle diagnostic equipment.

This role will be based at our Ambergate Workshop with a fixed 37 hours working week. The standard working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am – 3.30pm however non-compulsory overtime maybe available subject to workload.

Due to the nature of the work undertaken, the successful candidate will be required to undertake and pass a police security NPPV2 vetting check.
