An exciting opportunity has arisen to train as a Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician and gain a Level 3 apprenticeship.

The successful applicant will be based at Freighter House, Boreham and work with a team who maintain the Council’s vehicle fleet to the highest standard. The post holder will have the opportunity to work on a variety of Commercial vehicles and other equipment including items of plant. It is a requirement to attend Harlow College.

Previous knowledge is not required but we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic person with a keen interest in motor vehicles. It is a requirement to have a minimum of a grade 4/C in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent). The successful applicant will be required to work 37 hours per week which includes time off for study and training time during the week.

Applicants must have passed their driving test and hold a full drivers licence category B [minimum].

As part of the 3 year apprenticeship the Council will fund training for an HGV/LGV drivers licence class 2 [category C] which is an essential criterion for a Commercial Vehicle Technician.
