Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to support the Traffic and Asset teams in managing the National Street Gazetteer and the traffic data collection, processing and reporting throughout Westmorland and Furness.

We are looking to recruit a friendly and motivated candidate to join the Highways Service as the service is continuing to grow and develop. We are looking for someone who can ensure all work activities are carried out with a focus on improvement, attention to detail and meeting timescales.

About the role

In this role you will be required to input the Westmorland and Furness Council submission to Geoplace for the National Street Gazetteer. This is a statutory duty and requires liaison with address custodians and knowledge and expertise of specialist software (NSG software via WDM).

You will carry out activities relating to traffic surveys which will involve the production of specifications and contract documents for procurement. You will issue work instructions and organise coordination of activities with own team and area Traffic teams, including collection of appropriate inventory information and updating of records.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a strong communicator, who can take part in effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders, and who can work effectively and coordinate working with colleagues operating across the Highways service.

They will have strong organisational, planning and administration skills, can work well as part of a team, but also have the ability to work with minimum supervision.
