Job Details

There’s never been a more exciting time to join Doncaster Council.

We are passionate about Doncaster - it’s a great place to live, do business and visit.

We have plenty to shout about – Doncaster is the UK’s best-connected location, we have many major developments in the pipeline, a vibrant urban centre with a thriving arts and cultural scene, sport and leisure attractions, wonderful green spaces and a fascinating heritage.  We firmly believe, as do our partners, that Doncaster is the place to be with a bright future and ambitions ahead of it.  But don’t just take our word for it – anyone joining the council, can look forward to expanding their knowledge and skills in a dynamic, creative and nurturing environment while truly making a difference to the communities we serve.

Building on the strengths of being the UK’s best-connected location, Doncaster is transforming the way it looks and feels. Anyone joining our council can look forward to working for a confident, ambitious organisation with big plans to develop further and deliver for our residents, workforce and visitors. The Educational Psychology Service at Doncaster Council has its own vision and values that are embedded in everything we do. You will find a team of professionals committed to advocating for children and young people and working closely with families and other agencies.

As a Senior Educational Psychologist you will have an important role in developing the Educational Psychology Services’ work with the Virtual School Teams through applying and delivering psychology to promote the best possible learning and life outcomes for children and young people in the Borough. You will be part of a service and wider directorate team who are outcome focused and making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.

This is an influential role, embedded within the school improvement and inclusion strategies, and is focused on the application and development of psychology in support of teaching and learning across a broad range of need and provision.

In this role you will be part of an energetic team that is wanting to improve and further develop their ways of working. Our current service delivery model is focused on Pyramid Planning Meetings, a new multiagency consultation-based way of working. You will engage with schools, settings, health partners and the Children’s Services Trust to support and secure high quality solution-focused assessment, planning and delivery of outcomes-based programmes to promote excellent outcomes for children and young people in Doncaster.

So, if you are an Educational Psychologist or Senior Educational Psychologist seeking more leadership and development opportunities and want a role that is both inspiring and where you are empowered to drive forward change, we want to hear from you.

Further details about the responsibilities and requirements of the role are contained in the job description and person specification.
