Provide high quality financial management advice and support to the Environment & Neighbourhoods Directorate

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and businesses at the heart of everything we do, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective, and efficient. Committed to acting with openness, honesty, compassion, and humility, we aim to listen and understand in a way that is respectful, encourages involvement and meets the needs of all our communities.

The Role:

You will support the finance business partner in the provision of excellent financial advice and support to the Environment & Neighbourhoods service. This includes assisting in areas such as budget monitoring, financial control, closing of accounts, the administration of third-party funds, and financial advice to services. You will play an essential role in strengthening the quality and flow of information between the Finance team and service area.

You’ll have a number of additional responsibilities – these include monitoring and reviewing efficiency and value for money statements, reconciling financial information, and providing guidance to officers on the best use of financial systems. You’ll also contribute to a policy of continuous improvement by documenting, reviewing, and improving our systems and work methods, ensure the efficient input of transactions processed through the online accounting system, and identify and correct any mis-postings.

This is a hybrid role with 50% of your time expected to be spent in the office.
