Do you love adventure and working with young people?

If you are 18 or older, you can join Essex Outdoors as a Seasonal Instructor and have an amazing experience delivering outdoor activities for our diverse customers. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team, and you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and gain nationally recognised qualifications.

A standard day at our residential centres begins at 8.30am and finishes around 5.30pm. During the season this may change slightly but you'll receive time off in lieu of hours worked beyond those contracted.

Why work for Essex Outdoors?

  • You will get paid to do what you love: sailing, powerboating, biking, climbing, archery, and more.
  • You will get free accommodation at our residential centres (depending on location).
  • You will get access to our in-house training programme and external courses.
  • You will get the chance to work at one of our centres in a beautiful, rural part of Essex, each with its own unique features and activities.
  • Our centres:

Bradwell - Our coastal sailing and powerboat centre. A season here could see you out on the water, leading sessions on the beach or biking around the peninsular. Bradwell also offers a residential package for our instructors.

Danbury - A large centre set on a 70-acre site of beautiful countryside and woodlands. Danbury runs a large range of both land-based and water-based activities.

Mersea - A large centre in a wonderful coastal setting with views across the Blackwater Estuary. Mersea offers a vast selection of both land and water-based activities. A residential package is available for instructors.

Harlow - Our oasis of urban adventure, a small and friendly site offering an amazing amount of activities and excitement. A specialist climbing and paddle-sport centre, our Harlow site is also home to 'The Lock' - one of the largest indoor climbing walls in the South East.

Due to the rural location of some of our centres, public transport can be limited. Our Bradwell and Mersea centres may be able to offer the opportunity to stay on site. Please indicate in your application if this is something you would require. Otherwise please ensure you are happy and able to travel to your desired centre's location on a daily basis.

For more information on all the activities are available please check out our website: Essex Outdoors
