Highways Maintenance, Traffic Management
Job role
Contract Type
Full time

Oxfordshire County Council’s Transport Development Management team has a prime role in creating high-quality, sustainable places, where people want to live and work, through our input into the development planning process. The team provides OCC’s statutory planning consultation responses on all transport matters, and is involved from the earliest preapplication discussions, through to negotiation of S106 agreements and discharge of conditions. Team members work closely with each other and colleagues from across the Council in a very supportive environment.

About the role

If successful, you will support the team with assessing the highway safety, transport impacts and mitigation needs of development proposals, ensuring that they meet national and local policy and guidance. You will also assess the transport impacts of minor planning applications and discharge of conditions applications, providing high quality advice to the local planning authorities.

About you

Educated to at least A level/NVQ3 level, you will be a good teamworker with excellent communication and organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to read and interpret maps, plans, drawings and complex reports. You will also be competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
