Use your marketing communications skills to create a cleaner, greener borough.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient.

Our successful commercial waste service delivers a high-quality service to all types of businesses across the borough. In addition to generating income, this is an important way we can manage waste and keep our streets clean, ensuring Kensington and Chelsea is a cleaner, greener place to live and work for the thousands of residents, tourists and commuters that visit our borough each day.

The Role:

This new role offers a great opportunity to use your marketing communications skills in a socially responsible context. Working from within our Corporate Communications team, you’ll focus on developing a business development and marketing strategy for commercial waste. This is a competitive market where we contend with private contractors to retain and attract customers, so you’ll need to be creative, energetic and resilient. We’ll look to you to identify and target new customers and create high-quality digital and print communications to support your strategy. You’ll need to work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including our waste collection contractors, sales team and our waste disposal authority.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

You’ll be expected to make a real contribution from Day One, so you must bring sound practical experience of the business-to-business marketing environment. A strong commercial focus is essential, along with a keen interest in areas such as recycling, green energy and waste management. You’ll be working largely independently, so you’ll need to be highly organised with plenty of confidence and initiative, but you’ll also benefit from the support and shared knowledge of our wider corporate communications team and recycling and commercial waste team. You’ll have a strong understanding of setting targets and achieving them using a variety of paid and organic channels to reach new customers. Well-developed research, writing, analytical and presentation skills are important.

In return, you can look forward to working in a positive team with a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
