We are looking for an Inclusive Design Officer to join our busy Transport & Highways Team. You will be a key member of the team delivering major projects as well as highway improvements.

Liverpool City Council has embarked on a major improvement programme that involves all parts of the organisation. Transport & Highways is at its heart. The Transport & Highways team has just completed a comprehensive Service Review. This position is a newly created post that seeks to improve its proactive involvement in the design of new projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing design consultancy on a variety of major projects covering a wide range of development initiatives including residential and commercial, buildings and infrastructure.

This is a pivotal role that will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the highway service. You will be a key member of the team with the opportunity to bring your enthusiasm and ideals to develop a second to none service that Liverpool City Council will be proud of.

Reporting to the Transportation Policy and Strategy Manager you will be a self-starter with ambition and high expectations of yourself and those you work with.

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist design advice on pre-application discussions and PPA’s
• Comment on conservation cases from an Urban Design perspective
• Formulate integrated design approaches engaging with Partners such as the Design Council to ensure the delivery of social and economic regeneration through design excellence.
• Prepare Strategic Urban Design Briefs
