The core task of this role is to Register births, still-births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships, carry out all related duties and responsibilities in compliance with the Registration Acts.

Attest routine notices of marriage/civil partnerships; conduct statutory and non-statutory ceremonies at registration offices, religious buildings and approved premises.

Advise members of the public and partners on all matters relating to the registration service

Deal with all registration corrections, respond to face to face, telephone, online or postal enquires and submit all weekly/quarterly returns within the stated timescales.

  • Be able to work with a range of partners,
  • Be able to deliver a customer focused service
  • Have the ability to travel to and from various venues across the county

There are 4 permanent annualised hours post comprising of 312 hours to be worked over the year/6 hours per week (average), paid pro rata, hours to be worked flexibly over the year as & when required but with an envisaged management agreed work pattern working on Saturday and Sundays only. Candidates need to be able to drive and have a car they are willing to use.  The posts are based at Lancaster Registration Office.

This position is part time, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent, the salary received will be paid on a pro–rata basis.
