Help a vital service for vulnerable people be at its very best

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we are focused on putting our residents and local businesses at the heart of every decision. From the policy decisions that we're making through to the services that we’re delivering, it’s vital that we put the needs of our community first. We want to give everyone a great quality of life, with access to a comfortable home, sustainable and desirable employment options, and the chance to live and work in a healthy and safe environment. And our Financial Management departments play a vital part in achieving these goals.

The Role:

Joining our friendly, supportive department, you’ll deliver crucial financial processes for our Adult Social Care service. In doing so, you’ll be helping us make better use of our resources, in turn allowing us to help more vulnerable people across the borough. What’s more, we can help you work towards qualifications while you gain valuable corporate experience in a high-performing team.

Working with a wide range of financial systems, you’ll ensure the smooth running of our financial department. As part of this, you’ll help us maintain our accounting records, run reports, carry out reconciliations and deliver key financial information to budget holders. In addition, you’ll support and influence our managers to make informed financial decisions and assist our Finance Business Partner in the annual closing of accounts process.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

We’re looking for motivated, enthusiastic candidates with a good understanding of financial issues and the ability to manage a demanding workload. You’ll also need a good level of IT literacy (especially Excel), good communication skills, a flexible approach to work and a genuine interest in finance. You should be progressing to higher levels of AAT or have the equivalent experience. Ideally, you’ll have some experience in local government, but this isn’t essential.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent learning and development opportunities.
