This position is based at our Stockbridge Depot, Royd Ings Avenue, Keighley.

Bradford Metropolitan District Council is seeking to recruit a Senior Engineer to join the friendly Highway Maintenance Team who have responsibility for the maintenance of over 2000km of adopted road network.

Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for managing a team of three Inspectors. You will lead on the planning, procurement and supervision of carriageway, footway, drainage, etc. repairs and improvements and associated surveys and assessments.

You will be responsible for managing specified budget allocations and ensuring compliance with best engineering principles and Codes of Practice, whilst having due regard to health & safety.

You will be required to undertake some work outside normal office hours, including nights, weekends and Bank Holidays and to participate in emergency and winter standby arrangements.

You must have the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external to the Authority and be an ‘innovative’ thinker who can enhance our team and the Highway Maintenance function.

While this post is based at our Stockbridge Depot in Keighley, it will involve a level of mobile working across the Bradford District at all times of the year.

A full driving licence and the ability to drive to our different sites throughout the district is essential.
