We are currently recruiting for a Contracting Engineer to work within the Highways Operations Service.  You will be responsible for the measurement and setting out of schemes and projects across the borough for internal and external partners. The role will involve working in a highly commercial environment where cost-control, productivity and quality are required to be of the highest standard. Sub-contract staff will be under your direct control therefore management and supervisory skills are required as well as knowledge of NEC4 for contract administration.

You will be a self-motivated, well organised person who can readily communicate with engineers, managers, contractors and the public alike. Reliable and professional with a customer focused approach you will work across departments and with external partners to provide a consistent service.

Extensive knowledge and experience of civil engineering practices and contract procedures is desirable but is not essential for the right candidate as training and support, from a highly experienced team is available.

Further details about the responsibilities and requirements of the role are contained in the role summary and job profile.

There are opportunities to participate in the Council’s emergency planning and winter maintenance procedures, as well as the opportunity to work out of hours as the service requires.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we can offer you the chance to be part of a great team dedicated to ensuring that all people in Doncaster thrive.
