Lancashire Highways and Transport is responsible for the direct delivery of all highway related schemes across the County made up of 4300 miles of road, 151,000 street lights and 2955 bridges. 

 We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Officer (CAD) to join a small team of lighting professionals based at our Cuerden Depot in Bamber Bridge, Preston.  You will be working under the supervision of more experienced colleagues to provide a wide range of highway lighting design duties alongside planned and reactive works.  

Main Accountabilities

Support the undertaking of design and delivery of projects across the service.

Preparation of detailed AutoCAD drawings and plans, including the use of Xrefs (external references) for coordination of works with other design teams. 

Maintaining the drawing register, file systems and archives.

Participation in site surveys.

Creation of as-built drawings.

Dealing with client and customer enquiries.

Updating, collating and analysis of databases and spreadsheets.

Skills & Experience

Working with Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Excellent communication skills.

Working with 2D computer aided design packages (AutoCAD).

Ability to work on own initiative.

Collating and analysing data.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

 The post is a permanent full-time position (37 hours per week) based at Bamber Bridge where there is free car parking.
