The Opportunity

We are looking for a recruitment consultant who will work closely with our external partners and hiring managers to ensure that we recruit the right people into the right roles.

Ensuring our candidates and hiring managers have the best experience, with an efficient recruitment service underpinned by a solid understanding of process, policy and legislative knowledge is key to this role.

As a recruitment consultant for our external services, you will work predominantly on temporary hires, responsible for the full end to end recruitment process including curating talent pools, talent attraction, proactively head hunting, and vetting. You will be able to confidently advise and guide hiring managers and candidates at every stage of the recruitment process, ensuring SLAs are met. This role will play a crucial part in enhancing the capability of Essex County Council (ECC).

Within this role, you will provide active candidate management including giving feedback throughout the process, ensuring a positive experience, and making and managing offers of employment.

Vacancy progress tracking and reporting will be key, including full return on investment insight, to drive future attraction decision making and support compliance check completion.

This role offers a 10% bonus and specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

The experience you will bring

Ideally, you will possess CIPD (level 5 or above) or similar professional qualification or qualified by experience, with evidence of continued professional development, and expert knowledge in a relevant professional area.

You will have experience of delivering at a high volume with outstanding results, a proven background in strategic recruitment partnering and a deep understanding of attraction methods and technology, including anticipated market develops. You will be comfortable in challenging systems and processes and curious to learn as new policy and legislation emerges.

With your strong communication and influencing skills, you will have experience of working collaborative, managing external supplier contracts, with the ability to lever maximum value for an organisation. Using experience of evidence-based decisions and tracking and reporting management information to stakeholders is key.

Naturally, you will be able to recruit at pace, working comfortably in a fast changing environment, managing multiple campaigns in an efficient, organised manner and meeting high demands for quality of talent. You'll be passionate, proactive, with a can-do attitude, and robust work ethic which delights the customer.

You should have experience of delivering high qualify recruitment services with the ability to work collaboratively across a business, obtaining high hiring manager and candidate satisfaction in surveys.
