We have an opportunity for a Parking Team Leader to join our team in West Cumbria, as part of the wider Cumbria Parking Services which promotes road safety and traffic movement by managing the available on-street parking and enforcing Traffic Regulation Orders across Cumbria.
About the Role
The Parking Team Leader role involves managing the parking enforcement team in the West area of the County, covering Workington, Whitehaven, and the surrounding areas. It will involve liaising with members of the public and councillors and programming the workload and rota system of the parking team.
The Parking team is responsible for enforcing the waiting restrictions and advising members of the public on parking issues.
The role also involves liaising with the public and stakeholders and working with colleagues both within the highways service and throughout the County Council.
This is a predominantly office-based role with some site work/meetings, and you will be responsible for ensuring all activity is undertaken in accordance with the relevant legislation and Cumbria County Councils service procedures
You will represent the Council and promote a good relationship with the general public and members by providing advice and information concerning all aspects of parking activities and related matters.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will be proactive, have excellent customer service skills, and a flexible approach. We are looking for an effective communicator, with previous experience of enforcement and dealing with customer enquiries.
