Sustainable Travel Planning Officer: An opportunity to deliver innovative, sustainable travel solutions across Cambridgeshire.

Smart Journeys(www.smartjourneys.co.uk) are expanding and have a unique opening for an energetic, creative person with a flair for marketing, and good project management skills, to promote smarter, greener, healthier transport solutions.

Are you motivated to tackle climate change? To encourage and incentivise public transport and active travel across the County? Come join smart journeys as a Sustainable Travel Planning Officer.

The smart journeys team provides commercial travel planning advice and consultancy services to some of the largest and forward-thinking businesses in Cambridgeshire, as well as a wide range of residential and education sites. Our mission is to support clients in offering attractive alternatives to the private car, using a wide menu of innovative Travel Planning measures.

The post will assist with the development, co-ordination, implementation, and monitoring of sustainable Travel Plans, with the key focus to positively change travel behaviours.

The post holder will enhance our existing marketing and social media campaigns, to further raise awareness of our key messages and to promote success. The candidate will support the delivery of events targeted to engage, showcase and incentivise sustainable travel. The successful candidate may be from a wide range of backgrounds (the role encompasses a variety of marketing and promotion, transport planning, sustainable and active transport) but must demonstrate enthusiasm for learning skills, applying creative thinking and have a passion for driving behavioural change.

Experience and skills needed may include:

- Marketing and social media
- Project management
- Events management
- Positive team player
- Ability to engage and motivate different stakeholders through effective communication
- Logical reasoning and analytical skills
- Ability to adapt and willingness to get involved in a variety of activities
- Ability to self-motivate and challenge and improve ways of working
- Advocate of sustainable transport.
