Job role
Manager, Operative
Contract Type
Full time

An exciting new position in Waste Services is waiting for you!  As Centre Supervisor you will be responsible for leading the team which operates our newest Household Waste Recycling Centre at Tattershall.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the daily management of the site to ensure that it meets the requirements of the Environment Agency Operating Permit.  We are looking for someone who enjoys working with the public and would relish an opportunity to supervise staff and maintain the site to a high standard.  If you have a passion for recycling and the environment this role could be ideal for you.

The Team

The team you lead will be positive in engaging with the public to help direct and assist them to the correct disposal containers.  Your team will also keep the site clean and tidy and deal with any emergency issues.  However, the job is greater than these requirements, it is an ideal opportunity to discuss waste minimisation and recycling with residents whilst looking for improvements in how we deal with the waste.  If you are successful in securing this role you will become part of a bigger Waste Services Team which is strongly driven to achieve environmental improvements in an ever-growing sector.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience in waste management who is qualified to CoTC Level.  You must be proactive, work autonomously and motivate and lead a team with a positive approach when engaging with the public. Experienced in dealing with site maintenance you will be able to identify site problems and provide solutions as early as possible. You are IT literate with the ability to maintain records and confident handling data. You are a people person with good communication skills able to contribute to and develop effective team working.   The role is required to manually handle material when assisting the public, so a certain level of physical fitness is required.

About Our Offer

Along with a competitive salary we are offering:

  • A Contributory pension
  • Comprehensive benefits package including excellent discount schemes and cycle to work
  • Flexible working policies
  • Career progression opportunities
  • A generous annual leave entitlement plus the option to buy more

Further details can be found in our rewards and benefits brochure
