We’re seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our Architecture and Solutions Team to identify and recommend technical solutions to assist the organisation, its partners and commercial customers achieve their outcomes and continually improve the services delivered to the people of North Yorkshire.

Our Team

Here at North Yorkshire County Council our Technology and Change Department plays a vital role in improving, developing and supporting services across the whole Council for the benefit of our customers and staff.

We support the council to better manage demand and customer experience through effective channel management and customer responsive service design, including increasing the availability and use of digital channels. We are committed to ensuring modern working environments and flexible workspaces. T&C play a key role in maximising the effective use of technologies, productivity software, digital communications, including collaborative technologies, and digital information systems.

The role

As our Apprentice Architect, you will assist in the provision of high quality consultancy services, supporting projects and other initiatives in identifying, scoping and selecting appropriate ICT solutions to support business change. You will work with all areas of Technology and Change, as required, to establish the feasibility, scope and estimates for the delivery of potential solution options.

What you will bring….

You must be educated to Level 3 standard (e.g. A levels,) in a STEM related subject. Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, PCs, Laptops, mobile and other hardware devices, and knowledge of common information systems application architectures, development and implementation methods, and project stages. You will have experience of operating in an educational or work setting, producing clear and concise short reports and managing a busy workload within set deadlines.

While experience of working within a corporate IT environment would be valuable it is not essential and we invite all applicants who meet the above criteria regardless of this experience.
