The driving role in Waste Services is key to delivering a safe, reliable and efficient waste collection service across the City. You will be responsible for collecting household waste, recycling and garden waste across the City ensuring that a high quality service is delivered to the City’s residents. The Driver has responsibility to ensure that collection rounds are completed in full and that collections are undertaken in a safe manner. Your Loaders will be there to assist you in safely accessing various locations. You will need to have a good level of customer care and take pride in the quality of the service you deliver.

You will be required to enter information onto an in-cab unit to record that the collection has taken place and that any issues with collections are identified. The driver is responsible for safely tipping the vehicle and observing all safety precautions on the site. The driver is also responsible for undertaking vehicle checks, cleaning and fuelling their vehicle along with using a tacho card.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must hold a LGV class 2 licence and DCPC.
