You will be supported to carry out the following duties & responsibilities…..

To assist the Senior Engineer(s) with the development, design and implementation of planned carriageway and footway surface treatment programmes together with highway and transport engineering schemes, alongside broader highway capital maintenance projects including drainage and structures.

To form part of the Highway Engineering Group responsible for discharging duties and responsibilities of the Council in relation to highway and transport engineering, highway maintenance, traffic management, and road safety matters.

To develop and implement a range of innovative highway and transport engineering schemes.

What we're looking for...

An individual who is self-motivated, great at prioritising, creative, innovative, and comfortable working to deadlines. Good communication skills are vital, as are the interpersonal skills it takes to work as part of a team and liaise with a wide range of professionals and customers.

To succeed you will need at least a HNC or HND in a relevant subject such as Civil Engineering, you will be IT literate and have knowledge and experience in highways and transport, especially planned carriageway and footway surface treatment programmes alongside broader highway capital maintenance projects including drainage and structures. Confident in your ability to apply current government policies and design standards, you’re also adept at analysing information and producing coherent reports, designs and recommendations within a Highways and Transport environment.

Interviews will be held week commencing 4th July 2022.
