Highways Engagement Officer
Cumbria County Council is creating a new and exciting team within our Highways function, focusing on the customer journey and experience while using and engaging with the service. This new role will be a key part of the new Highways Engagement team within Highways Delivery.
Over recent years there has been a significant increase in the number of service requests/responses within highways that impact on how and what the highways service priorities are on a day-to-day basis. This new team is being put in place to significantly improve the end-to-end customer experience, taking ownership of the enquiry and ensuring a consistent high-quality service and response is given to our customers through one front door.
In addition, the team will create and collate a repository of information/data to speed up any future responses ensuring resilience of knowledge within the wider service.
In this role, you will work to support the Highways service in dealing with service requests and general enquiries, all while ensuring all communications are responded to within a determined time scale and in a consistent format. We are looking for candidates who can ensure that effective systems and quality assurance frameworks are in place and report any issues to the Team Leader on a need basis, whilst continuing to meet professional and regulatory standards.
We are looking for candidates who have experience in service delivery and working with key stakeholders, as well as being able to communicate well with a wider range of audiences. You will need exceptional customer service skills, the ability to work under pressure and experience of working in a political environment would be beneficial.
