More about the role:

Find your greatness with Central Bedfordshire Council’s Agreements Team. You will work closely with developers throughout Central Bedfordshire to agree highway designs for new developments. Working with colleagues and developers to check and approve detailed designs to ensure the public highway is protected and considered at all times throughout the development process.

Understanding standard details, design guides and engineering experience will be essential in this role. You will be required to understand the Council's fees and charges for highway agreements under s38 and s278 of the Highways Act 1980 and have an understanding of how highway assets are constructed including drainage, street lighting, pavements high speed roads, rural roads and urban area designs. An engineering qualification is desirable for this role - this may be a civil engineering qualification or construction management or similar. Central Bedfordshire Council is a good training provider, where upskilling benefits the service we provide, the Council is keen to keep staff up to date with the latest best practice
