This is an exciting, rewarding and challenging role to work in the Environmental Commissioning team, leading, developing and delivering the Councils Strategies on the Environment and Waste.

The role will assist in the commissioning, specification, procurement, co-ordination, operation of a range of services focussing on waste. Including responsibility for the role out of the new waste strategy, the specification and procurement of any new or existing waste services, managing data, making recommendations, education and engagement, managing the land fill sites.

The Council have a 10-year Waste Strategy with clear priorities that need to be delivered.

This role will be part of a dynamic team and will lead on enabling Environment and Waste strategies to become reality by working with relevant services and partners, by developing action plans and ensuring they are delivered.

The role will provide technical advice for the specification of new and existing waste services contracts, meeting both council objectives, national legislation and the council climate change declaration.

This post will be responsible for managing complex pieces of work in relation to a series of Waste contracts, ensuring that variations to the contract are agreed and managed to meet obligations, performance and risks identified.

This role is the service lead on development and implementation of specific projects associated with the commissioning of new and existing Waste contracts.

The contractual work location for this role is listed above however you may be required to work from a range of work locations or sites within the Borough and may also be required to work from home, depending on the needs of the service.
