Job Details

Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind is a highly regarded local charity, helping people to be mentally healthy and working together with those experiencing mental health problems and dementia to improve their quality of life. With an annual turnover of £6M, over 150 staff and 200 volunteers, we are one of the largest charities in the Mind network.

Bromley & Greenwich Community Wellbeing Hubs will form part of the transformation of mental health services in the London Boroughs of Bromley and Greenwich under the NHS Long Term Plan. The services will bring together the expertise of local primary, secondary and voluntary sector mental health providers with the aim of providing flexible, holistic and integrated services for adults with mental health problems.

One of the objectives of the Community Mental Health Transformation Projects is to reduce health inequalities. Barriers to obtaining support for mental health issues may be experienced as a result of stigma, disability, discrimination, social or other inequalities.

We are recruiting two Inequalities Project Workers (one in Bromley and one in Greenwich). The roles will work alongside the integrated Hub team to engage with under-represented communities, understand their lived experience and the barriers they face to accessing support for their mental health, and support the Hub team to deliver tailored support to improve accessibility, experience and equity.

Please say in your supporting statement whether you are interested in the Bromley or the Greenwich role.

You should have experience in working with disadvantaged groups, supporting individuals and of working with people with mental health problems.

You will be a key person in maintaining quality within service delivery and maintaining clear communication and representation across the partnerships including across clinical and non-clinical settings.

We recognise the importance of having a diverse and inclusive work force, and would therefore particularly welcome applications from the following, currently under-represented, groups:

  • People from culturally diverse communities
  • Young people
  • Disabled people
  • People with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities

BLG Mind is committed to meeting the reasonable adjustments of disabled people and always welcomes applications from people with lived experience of mental health problems.

Staff benefits include a matched contribution pension scheme, 25 days' holiday (pro-rata, rising with service), quality supervision and training opportunities. See our website for more reasons to work for Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind.
