A county as large as Wiltshire needs a great transport network. One that connects rural communities, enables businesses to flourish and provides visitors access to its many places of beauty and historic interest. Wiltshire’s communities, economy, and sustainable future depend on keeping people moving.

As Director of Highways and Transport, you’ll do just that. You will lead on review of our Local Transport Plan to support new housing growth and employment. You’ll use your impressive experience of overseeing large projects and contracts to guide significant investment for road improvement. You’ll also make passenger transport more sustainable, engage with communities in improving highways to meet their needs, and ensure the directorate meets our 2030 carbon neutral commitment.

An inspirational strategic leader, you’ll build successful partnerships that will ensure we maximise the growth potential in Wiltshire and boost its economy. In the context of a placemaking approach, your innovative thinking and leadership will progress a range of programmes and projects that will protect and enhance our county, develop the economy, and ensure our communities are truly connected.
