Are you an experienced highways engineer who wants to make a difference to accessibility and events within the 5,500 miles of road network in Lincolnshire? About the Role
Base – Lincoln (covering the south and west of Lincolnshire), however homeworking can be undertaken as the role allows.
We are currently looking for an individual who can ensure the efficient use of the Lincolnshire Highway Network for vehicular accesses and events. The role will involve managing the delivery of S184 vehicle access applications, making assessments of requests, providing technical and performance advice to applicants and contractors. You will coordinate these works and carry out site inspections and compliance of activity on the highway.
Lincolnshire hosts a broad range of events which bring tourism and economic benefit to the county, within the role you will assess event applications, providing advice to event organisers for the benefit of the highway and local economy.
You will assist the Street Works and Permitting Manager in the interpretation and implementation of legislation and policy to safeguard the authority against potential legal challenges. This will include support to constant review and amendment to working practices, procedures and systems.
You will deputise for your manager in attending SAG (Safety Advisory Groups) meetings.
About You
It is essential that you hold a NRSWA Supervisors qualification / HNC in an appropriate discipline OR have a demonstrable level of knowledge and skill suitable for the role.
An in-depth industry experience of specification and materials is essential, along with experience of NRSWA 1991 and traffic management legislation.
You will be able to communicate with stakeholders effectively and build collaborative relationships to work towards the corporate vision of achieving more than we can on our own. You will demonstrate a strong experience in Street Works/Highways sector.
Above all else you need to have a positive "can do" attitude and be passionate about ensuring the Lincolnshire Highways Network delivers for the residents and road users of the county.
