We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. This is an exciting time to be joining the Digital Data Services team at Camden, and this is the most senior design role within our newly formed Digital Products and Services team.

The role

The Digital Design Lead will set the standard for product and content design at Camden alongside the user research that informs all our work. With a team of nine reporting into this role, this role will be hands-on and play a leading role in introducing design thinking to our work at Camden, leading the development and roll out of our design system, and addressing the diverse needs of the citizens of Camden.

You are a passionate Digital Design Lead, with broad experience and great judgment on inclusive, accessible design processes and standards. You will have extensive experience of managing designers and working with design systems alongside developers and thoroughly understanding the user needs that inform ongoing development of standards and templates. You will be highly skilled at creating high fidelity prototypes and interactions to help service areas understand the possibilities of transformation using different prototyping methods for different needs to help services understand how to make prototypes turn into services. You will have proven expertise in use of software packages and platforms including but not limited to Azure, Figma and Photoshop with demonstrable experience of building A/AA complaint products. Alongside your leadership and mentoring skills you will have great judgment and insight from your own practical design work which will have included products developed across platforms for diverse audiences.

Your work has been informed by thorough understanding of user needs, you have either led or worked closely with user researchers in past roles and you value their expertise in helping you understand the potential outcomes and impact of your team’s work.
