We’re looking for a senior communications officer in our digital team to play a lead role delivering both our website for residents and intranet for our staff.

The council’s website is the front door to our services and used millions of times a year by the residents of North Yorkshire. Supporting the team leader, you would manage the content and structure of the website on a day-to-day basis. Showing a passion for writing and delivering excellent and effective content you would also act as a champion for our residents and their customer journey to ensure they can access information and services as easily and effectively as possible.

You would also provide a similar role for our staff intranet, an essential point of news and information for thousands of staff on a daily basis. Creating effective content to keep the council’s staff informed and able to easily access vital information about their role and how to seek support from other teams across the council to ensure the continued effective running of the organisation.

What you will bring:

You must hold a degree level or equivalent qualification in a relevant field or NCTJ qualified level 6.

Demonstrate experience of creating and maintaining websites and their content and structures. Have a proven track record of leading communications projects, in a changing organisational environment, delivering against targets.

Ideally experience of unitary websites but we welcome all applications with experience in creating and maintaining websites.
