Lead Officer for Flood and Development Management

Cumbria County Council's Development Management team are looking for an experienced and hard-working individual to join us as a Lead Officer. We are offering this post on a permanent basis.

We are looking for a Lead Officer with extensive planning experience knowledge of the use of sustainable drainage in planning applications for major applications. Included in the role will be the requirement to support and lead other officers in the team on planning applications from small to major in size.

In addition you will be responsible for overseeing effective delivery of development management activities and duties associated with the Council's statutory responsibilities and work specifically covering the south area of Cumbria covering South Lakeland and Barrow districts.

A strong communicator with attention to detail and the ability to lead staff in a supportive an engaging way is essential. Cumbria County Council is a modern and supportive employer and we have both the technology and the commitment to allow our employees to work flexibly and efficiently.
