This is an exciting opportunity to join the Waste Service Team which is responsible for managing a Public Private Partnership waste contract. We also are responsible for other key waste contracts/projects ensuring we deliver Cumbria County Council's statutory duties as the Waste Disposal Authority including the disposal of municipal waste and the provision of the county's 14 Household Waste Recycling Centres.

The Role

Working within the Waste Service as part of the Waste Contracts Team you will be expected to work independently collating recording controlling validating analysing and manipulating financial and data information ensuring it is accurate and compliant.

You will be responsible for collating and inputting financial and waste data information to allow for accurate recording and reporting of service information.

You will also be working within the wider Waste Service team to highlight service and contract performance issues arising from Service finance and data ensuring clear and timely provision of information to the team to enable compliant management of contracts and operation of the Service.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have an NVQ 3 or 4 or equivalent experience or knowledge in the relevant work area as well as in depth knowledge of the procedures and approaches in Waste Services and understanding of general organisation procedures regulations and legislation as applicable. You will be a strong communicator who is able to confidently give considered advice both within and outside the organisation.

We are looking for some with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills who can summarise and present the results of data analysis to a wide range of stakeholders making recommendations and advising and supporting as needed.
