Project Officer x2 - Transport

It's an exciting time for the passenger transport sector in Cumbria. Cumbria County Council has secured funding to deliver a series of digital demand responsive transport solutions in 4 areas of Cumbria with little or no existing public transport provision. In addition a grant has been received to lauch some new scheduled bus services in various locations of the county without existing provision. In October 2021 the Council also submitted its first Bus Service Improvement Plan to the Department for Transport with an ask for £64m of funding to deliver a variety of 33 schemes across the County.

We're looking for 2 ambitious Project Officers to work with existing team members to deliver a variety of transport related initiatives interventions and schemes across Cumbria. This will entail working with existing public transport operators local communities and a wide range of stakeholders to shape and deliver the services they want. Ultimately this will improve connectivity and enhance the vitality of our towns and villages particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic recovery phase.
