We’re looking for an Asset Management Engineer to join our Highways Asset Management Team.
Our Team
The Highway Asset Management Team forms part of the Network Strategy Group within the Highways and Transportation Service Unit. Out team’s core functions are Highway Maintenance Policy and Strategy; Capital Maintenance Scheme Identification; Network Management Policy and Strategy; Highway Asset Valuation; Highway Asset Management System (Symology: Insight); Highway Condition Monitoring; and using HMEP guidance, identifying asset management service improvements.
The role
As an Asset Management Engineer you are responsible for providing Asset Management expertise and support within the Highway Asset Management Team in developing and implementing Highways Network related Management and Maintenance policy and strategy.
You will work on a wide range of projects across the highways service, working with teams within the County Council, its partner organisations and other external organisations.
Developing and updating highway maintenance strategy will be a large part of your role, alongside analysing and interpreting asset condition data, to help determine highway investment strategies and decisions for the County Council.
What you will bring:
This is a career graded role, to be successful as entry level you will have successfully completed the Civil Engineering NC and will then be enrolled on the HND/C in Civil Engineering. To qualify for the Grade I position, you will have successfully completed the Civil Engineering NC and the first year of the HND/C qualification (and will be continuing into year 2 of the qualification). For Grade K, you will have successfully completed the Civil Engineering NC and HND/C qualification.
You must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, have the ability to problem solve and offer practical solutions as well as good analytical and organisational skills.
