FURTHER INFORMATION

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and creative Consultant in Public Health / Consultant in Public Health Medicine to join our committed, forward-thinking and friendly Public Health team. This is a full time post, working with the Public Health team and across the Council to improve and protect the health and wellbeing of our communities and address inequality.

The post-holder will be a senior appointment and will be expected to work across the health and wellbeing system, using strong technical and leadership skills to deliver public health outcomes.

As well as delivering the Council’s statutory duties, you will be responsible for shaping and commissioning significant strategic programmes and working with our local communities and partners to lead and enable change. The post-holder will join an innovative Council that is committed to cross-Council working, with an active Health and Wellbeing Board and strong political leadership for public health.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, political acumen and have the ability to work flexibly across the three domains of public health practice.

You will work alongside our existing Consultant in Public Health as part of a strong Public Health management team and supportive directorate senior management team.

If you would like an informal discussion about this post, please contact: Sarah Bowman-Abouna, Director of Public Health: sarah.bowman-abouna@stockton.gov.uk.
