About the role

This opportunity is critical to delivering the Local Highways and Asset Management Services across Lincolnshire in accordance with the Highways Act 1980 and the County Council’s policies and procedures.

This is a challenging role, where you will have the opportunity to develop yourself and others, through developing and maintaining strong, positive relationships with colleagues, elected Councilors and partners across all service areas. You will contribute to a conscientious culture of proactive, future-focused service delivery, engaging our customers and modelling accountability.

About the team

You will be an integral member of the Highways Management Team and as such will be valued, supported and will provide support to fellow management team members as we collectively deliver a challenging but rewarding service.

About you

We are looking for a vibrant new member of our Highways Management Team. You will ideally be a senior manager with significant experience in a similar environment, skilled in developing effective working relationships to enhance collaborative working both internally and with partners.

Passionate and with the drive to ensure necessary changes are achieved along with continued improvement and development of operational excellence through strategic direction and decision making. 

You will need demonstrate;

  • exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • a natural ability to engage at all levels
  • professionalism, emotional intelligence and integrity
  • effective motivational leadership and vision setting to staff at all levels
  • a positive attitude to change in order to develop and maintain services in a constantly changing environment
  • significant ability and experience to deliver the duties of this role.

Remote Working

At the current time during the Coronavirus restrictions,  all our employees are working from home if they are able to do so to support the health and safety of all of our colleagues.  We are embracing new ways of working and we are anticipating that remote working will continue to be a key feature of this role. You will be  given a nominated contractual work base and once current restrictions are lifted you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary.  

Our technology platform and equipment is very good enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.
