About Us:

Annualised hours: 10 hour shifts (daylight hours), including 2 weekends per month.

Protect people and support the local community.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient.

Within this inclusive environment, our parks and open spaces have a key role to play. They are places that bring people together and offer everyone the chance to get outside and enjoy being in nature. It makes this a unique as well as beautiful place to work.

The Role:

As part of our team, you’ll help to make sure everyone using our parks feels safe. This is an opportunity to give something back to the Borough – whether you are helping to reunite parents with their children, teenagers with their lost property or offering directions to an elderly couple, you’ll have a sense of getting back to the routes of community policing.

That’s not to say that there won’t be challenges. You’ll be working with a wide range of residents and handling situations involving drink and drugs as they arise. You’ll carry out patrols, issue fixed penalty notices and arrest suspects if needed. But this isn’t an enforcement focused role – it’s a people focused one.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You: Integrity and trustworthiness are the two words that first come to mind. You’ll need to be an excellent communicator with a flair for putting people at ease. You’ll have basic police training already and be confident taking statements and dealing with people from all walks of life. Whether you are a retired Police Constable or someone looking for a change of scenery and focus, you’ll be passionate about protecting people and supporting the community.

Please note applicants must have a full UK driving licence.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of suitable applicants.
