Social Worker – Children & Families Service - Care Planning and Support Team
The Care Planning and Support Team in the East of North Yorkshire is looking to expand its team of Social Workers, this is an exciting time to join the service and make a real difference to the lives of our young people. We are passionate about improving the outcomes for our young people and have a practice model which has a focus on supporting children, their family and network to achieve positive change that continues after we no longer need to be involved. Together we create environments that allow relationships to flourish, for children who are in care to be connected to those that matter to them, family, friends and previous carers. Our priority is keeping children safe and families together, the right intervention at the right time in the right place.
We clearly demonstrate that the voice of the child and family shape the service we provide and this is evidenced throughout practice. We are looking for Social Workers with a ‘can do’ attitude who put children at the heart of their practice and are innovative in their approach. It might be you are starting out on your career or are experienced in another area of Social Work with a variety of experience and skills to bring to the role. You will be joining a highly-acclaimed supportive service that has a comprehensive programme to ensure new recruits have a thorough induction, receive ongoing support from managers and have the opportunity to progress in your career.
We have adapted our working practice and encourage agile working with a mix of home based work and access to docking stations across the county which include Whitby, Pickering, Malton and Selby. This way of working allows flexibility and a home life balance which we are happy to promote.

We pride ourselves on our confident workforce who feel safe and their practice has been further enhanced by the mapping of cases, which is core to this model.
