If you’ve answered yes to the questions above you could be the person we are looking for to join our Streetworks team. In this role you will be central to ensuring Lambeth’s own road network, is safe and flowing, paying attention to the needs of all residents and road users.

Lambeth’s roads are essential to its growth and wellbeing and to the success of London as a whole. We are looking for someone to expertly to take a major role in contributing to the fulfilment of Lambeth’s Network Management Duty, aiding the free flow of traffic on Lambeth’s road network and on neighbouring networks. Using expertise and understanding of relevant legislation to assess proposals for traffic management on Lambeth’s network and on neighbouring networks

You will lead on coordinating major works on the borough’s streets, including but not limited to utilities works, highways works, development related works and special events. Guard against conflicts, taking into account other planned and unplanned activities including placing of hoarding, cranes, skips and scaffolding under LoPS & the New Roads & Street Works Act & The Highways Act 1980. As part of the traffic order making process to undertake preparation of application for road closures and other restriction under 14(1), 14 (2), and 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

You will have experience with the process for prosecutions of street works offences, development of enforcement policy with a strong understanding and maintain an enforcement policy for contraventions of street works regulations

You must be a NRSWA accredited to Supervisor level and preferably Lantra 12DT7 or equivalent with the ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of the principals involved in coordinating and assessing Traffic Management on the highway and keeping it clear from danger.
