We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Bridge Engineer, to join our Bridges team based in either Kendal. You will be one of the key responsible engineers for the design of new and improvement related activities, including bridges and other highway structures, and for the condition assessment and maintenance activities.
Our Bridges team undertake condition inspections, monitoring and general stewardship of bridges and other highways structures. We record the condition of bridges and defects accurately, clearly, and consistently in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines.
You will also be responsible for commissioning, managing and carry out surveys, design, specification and supervisions associated with the improvement and maintenance of bridges and other highway structures while also monitoring and reporting on progress of projects and work programmes, including contribution to our long-term strategic planning.
Who we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will be proactive, flexible, self-motivated, have considerable experience of bridge and structures design to national standards including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and also have knowledge of the application of technical standards, specifications, systems, guidelines, regulations, policies and legislation relating to the relevant work areas.
